We had a good week!
Reading: We continued working with a variety of reading strategies, keeping track of our thoughts while reading. Focus was on making connections and inferring – looking for clues in the reading and then making decisions. Students also worked in groups to determine main events and draw their visualization.
Spelling: worked for the second week with homophones. Most students are doing a great job with their homework assignments.
Writing: We have been thinking about stories in our lives that could be written into stories to share. Practicing telling the stories orally, then writing down details.
Math: We have practiced all of the skills related to geometry in unit 1. Students will complete their first unit assessment next week After a day or two of practice. There are many new vocabulary words – students practiced with them today.
Science: We began a unit on Force and Motion. Ask about the experiment with the ramp and spheres.
Have a fun weekend!
